Vincekovo in Letovanski Vrh

Last Saturday, the winegrowers of Letovanski Vrh marked Vincekovo (St. Vincent’s Day) with their well-established programme. First they attended Mass in St. Bartholomew’s Chapel, led by parish priest Mladen Vidak, and then took part in the first pruning, held in the vineyard of Slavko Dragić. The host was helped with the first pruning of the vines by Ivica Herak, president of the Sv. Bartol winegrowers’ and fruit growers’ association, and Božidar Škofač was there too with the folk dancers of HKUD Poculica, who took care of the singing and the good mood. Finally, parish priest Vidak called down God’s blessing on the vines and those who tend them. This was followed by a get-together with fine Letovanić wines and local produce.
