Bread Days in Pešćenica and Letovanić

On Sunday, 20 October 2019, the women’s association Društvo žena Pešćenica marked Bread Days – days of thanksgiving for the fruits of the earth – under the patronage of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Lekenik. At 10 am, Mass was celebrated in the local parish church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, after which the event moved to the Pešćenica fire station, where everyone took part in a blessing, followed by a tasting of the homemade products prepared for the occasion. Also on 20 October 2019, the association OSIT “Anđeoska srčeka” from Letovanić marked Bread Days – Days of Thanksgiving for the Fruits of the Earth – with a gathering of people with intellectual disabilities, under the patronage of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Lekenik.
At 11 am, Mass was celebrated in the parish Church of St. Nicholas and St. Vitus in Žažina, led by Rev. Mladen Vidak.
After Mass, parishioners and members of the Legion of Mary treated everyone to blessed cakes, and the get-together continued at the community hall in Letovanić. Everyone present could see an exhibition of works by members of the OSIT “Anđeoska srčeka” association, created as part of the project “Srčekom za naš zavičaj” under the patronage of the Municipality of Lekenik.
