Cerje mushroom and chestnut festival (Cerska gljivijada i kestenijada)

On Sunday, 13 October 2019, the event “Cerska kestenijada i gljivijada” – the Cerje mushroom and chestnut festival – was held, organised by the local heritage society Zavičajno društvo “Sv. Josip” Cerje Letovaničko under the patronage of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Lekenik. The main part of the event took place at the old school in Cerje Letovaničko. On arrival, visitors could warm up with hot tea, and during the day they could taste various treats such as pasta in truffle sauce, goulash and other homemade delicacies. A trip to the forest to pick mushrooms and chestnuts was also organised for all visitors. As part of the programme, Mario Kolić, a truffle hunter from Lekenik, demonstrated how truffle dogs work, followed by mushroom identification.
